It’s been another full week here at Deep South Details. Kendell & Dana went camping with five other couples, 15 kids, and a British chef. Just a normal Friday, really. And because Kendell can’t do anything with marketing/branding it, our trip was dubbed The McCain Cabin Experience 2015. It had a logo.
You can’t make this stuff up.
We went through another shootout of a Saturday in the SEC, with winners and losers all over the place. Bama is looking more and more like the team to beat. (That Bama D is t-o-u-g-h.) Ole Miss drops one against Memphis. (MEMPHIS. Ouch.) And LSU pulls some classic Les Miles Mad Hatterism to knock off Florida. (Les: delightfully fruity with a touch of screwball. Happy Columbus Day, everybody! It’s not St. Patty’s Day…that’s a totally different day.)
Then we chatted up Al Gamble, keys player for the red-hot soul group St. Paul & the Broken Bones. He was nicer to us than lots of non-famous people, which was mind boggling. Kendell and I think he’s the bomb, and are waiting for the next album from this Alabama born-and-bred crew like kids waiting for Christmas.
